Should The Government Mandate Urine Tests For Assistance?

I received an interesting email today. It was regarding taking a urine test for a job. The writer said he/she didn’t mind taking a urine test…but thought anyone who wants to receive government assistance ought to be put through the same hoops as those of us who work for a living. In other words, if you can’t pass a drug test, you won’t get food stamps, welfare, medicare, etc.

Amen!

What are your thoughts?

Absolutely. I am tried of my tax dollars going to people of that ilk. I know a number of people who are receiving “assistance” who are working under the table. I also would not give my tax dollars to anyone who abuses the system. It’s a shame there is not some sort of “fraud” department where people could call in and have such person (people/families) investigated. I alrady have quite a few names for them.

It’s too bad, Patty, but it will never happen. Honest, law-abiding, hard-working people seldom catch a break. I’ve been trying for 8 years to RL before a Judge for contempt – HASN’T HAPPENED YET AND NEVER WILL. Again, honest, hard-working people seldom catch a break. Sucks, sucks, sucks – but what can one single mother do????

Have a great day and hope the play was a lot of fun.
